Top 25 Things You Can Do With a Good Ole Paper Bag, #12

A somewhat light hearted look at 25 things that you can do with a Paper Bag...

Item #12 - Storage Containers.

This one isn’t rocket science either, but today is just one of those days. Thinking more about my new grand daughter! Ahem...
Paper bags make great storage containers. They not only can hold irregular and even fragile items safely, they can conform to whatever space you have available to keep the item in.

Top 25 Things You Can Do With a Good Ole Paper Bag, #13

A somewhat light hearted look at 25 things that you can do with a Paper Bag...

Item #13 - Moving Aid.

Moving can be a big enough pain without breaking things on top of the rough day of work. It doesn’t help to have things to fix or trash. I make it a point not to move, but taking kids to college and from one apartment to another I have always been called on to help, cuz’ I was smart(?) Enough to have a truck and a utility trailer. We collect the bags for so many things, as you can tell by now, that we have enough to even move china and breakables. Fine china goes into a paper bag and folds well enough to keep chips out of the edges. Batting 1000 so far. (Maybe I shouldn’t mention that.) Or when shipping depression ware sold on eBay, put plates in double paper bags, folded over to keep them safe. Where plastic bags will at least keep all the pieces together though.

Top 25 Things You Can Do With a Good Ole Paper Bag, #14

A somewhat light hearted look at 25 things that you can do with a Paper Bag...

Item #14 - Don’t forget to recycle.

This is a little off the main thrust of this list, but a friendly reminder doesn’t hurt. As with all of your paper goods and plastics, don’t forget to recycle both your paper and plastic bags. It certainly isn’t as important to us today, as it will be tomorrow, but THAT is the whole point. Let’s leave things for the next generation in as good of shape as we can.
This arises as a thought because you will never guess what happened to me today. I became a Grandpa!!!!!!!! Beautiful Lilly Grace came into the world at 4AM this morning. She was fashionably early by only one day. She and my daughter are doing fine after a short labor of only 4 hours. Jessica probably doesn’t think it short, but her mother was in labor for 44 hours with Jess. A Grueling test for any new parents!

PS: Dad’s fine too! Just a few bitten nails. And I slept through it all.

Top 25 Things You Can Do With a Good Ole Paper Bag, #15

Sook the Weekend off...

A somewhat light hearted look at 25 things that you can do with a Paper Bag...

Item #15 - Dietetic Popcorn Maker.

If you love a bag of popcorn, like I do, then you just can’t stop eating it once you start. But, “OH!“, all that butter and salt isn’t good for the “bottom line”, if ya know what I mean. Have you ever just taken a plain paper lunch bag, put in a ½ cup or so of your favorite good brand of popcorn (like Orville Redenbocker - my apologies for any spelling errors. I’ve seen the name enough I should know, but I don’t), folded the top of the bag over and put it in the microwave until it stopped popping? I couldn’t sit down with a bag of it done “eau natural” after having some with all the fixings, but if you start the evening with good intentions, it’s still a great tasting snack and the calories you have saved won’t show up where you don’t want them. Even if you do this every other time you have popcorn it will save a morning work out.

Top 25 Things You Can Do With a Good Ole Paper Bag, #16

A somewhat light hearted look at 25 things that you can do with a Paper Bag...

Item #16 - For Sale Sign

Ever need a sign out front for a garage sale, or just to sell something you don’t need any more? I have a piece of precut plywood that fits nicely into, you guessed it, a paper grocery bag. Both sides can be written on to always face traffic coming from each direction. It saves on plywood scraps, which can get expensive and is editable to the hilt! Works for garage sales, cars, or what have you. Cut the bottom out, taped snugly in place and folded around properly takes the “ghetto” look out of it. We live in a higher traffic location than some friends, so it comes out regularly when they have something to sell too.
